Now Available: DWR's Summer 2024 Collection
This season, DWR presents two classic chairs refreshed by Raf Simons and Kravadat, new additions to Gabriel Tan’s Softlands Collection, Louis Poulsen's 150th-Anniversary Collection, and more.
Egg and Swan Chairs designed By Arne Jacobsen For Fritz Hansen, Upholstered in Atom Fabric by Raf Simons for Kravadat
Designed by legendary Danish designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the Egg Chair and Swan Chair have become iconic chairs revered for their groundbreaking organic, sculptural forms. Now these chairs have been reinvented in Atom, a bouclé fabric by fashion designer Raf Simons for Kvadrat, available exclusively at DWR. Inspired by pointillist paintings, Atom’s vibrant, speckled pattern brings another dimension to Jacobsen’s designs – making them fresh works of art for a new generation.
Softlands Dining Collection Designed By Gabriel Tan For Design Within Reach
Designed exclusively for DWR, this comfortable, sophisticated collection by Gabriel Tan began with the idea of creating “soft islands” that feel like private getaways. Beautifully crafted of teak and ceramic stone, the gently rounded top and the slatted base of the Softlands Outdoor Dining Table will enrich any outdoor setting while enduring season after season. Pair with the Softlands Outdoor Dining Chair, with a sheltering back, woven rope detailing, and deep, comfortable cushions that bring inviting warmth and texture to your patio, terrace, or backyard.
Uno Pouf Designed By Claesson Koivisto Rune, Distributed By Ad
Made exclusively for DWR by celebrated Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune, the lively Uno Pouf (2023) pops with personality. Expertly upholstered in lively Maharam fabrics designed by Paul Smith and Alexander Girard, this cheerful mushroom-shaped pouf can serve as a stool or ottoman. Simultaneously sculptural and comfy, Uno’s rounded, padded foam shell is available in a range of colors, providing an irresistible spot to relax or play.
Noviembre Console Designed By Joel Escalona For Breuer
A DWR exclusive, the Noviembre Console (2020) is a highly distinctive piece that seems to challenge the laws of gravity. Two oval forms hold the Noviembre’s top aloft to create a sculptural console that’s also functional. Free from ornamentation, Joel Escalona’s design radiates with an organic materiality – in its pleasing shapes and beautiful hand-sanded solid white oak. Its pragmatic and poetic design was inspired by the creative thinking of Roman artist and sculptor Constantin Brancusi, who sought to uncover the essence of things through their raw beauty, which is exactly what Mexico City–based Escalona has achieved.
Louis Poulsen 150th-Anniversary Collection
To celebrate 150 years of Louis Poulsen’s brilliance, DWR is delighted to offer new styles and fresh colors from this luminary family. Since 1874, the Danish lighting specialists at Louis Poulsen have been creating classics through collaborations with some of history’s most luminous designers. The 150th-Anniversary Collection includes the AJ Table Lamp by visionary Danish designer Arne Jacobsen (top left), an exciting new addition to DWR, Poul Henningsen’s spectacular PH5 Pendant (top right) and PH Artichoke Lamp (bottom right) in elegant new hues, plus Verner Panton’s Panthella Portable and Table Lamps (bottom left) in a choice of lively color combinations or soft pastels.
Rowen and Willa Wool Handloom Rugs
Rowen (top) and Willa (bottom) were both designed by Design Within Reach. The Rowen Handloom Rug brings rich, understated texture to high-traffic spaces. Its bold linear pattern is handwoven in India from high- quality wool with a touch of cotton. Two-tone colorways add character to living or work spaces without overpowering them. The Willa Handloom Rug will add texture and visual interest to any room. Its warm geometric pattern is handwoven in India from high-quality wool on a traditional loom. As durable as it is beautiful, Willa’s flat weave is ideal for busy dining and living spaces.
