Design Within Reach Announces Winners of 20th Annual Champagne Chair Contest
The contest, held in partnership with Champagne Pommery, drew in over 200 submissions from across the country, and generated a $20,000 donation to United States Artists.

Design Within Reach (DWR), the leading source for modern living, is thrilled to announce the winners of its 20th annual Champagne Chair contest. Every year for two decades, DWR invites participants to create and submit miniature DWR chairs made only using the foil, cap, cage and cork of a bottle of champagne, for the chance to win one of three prizes. On Wednesday, February 7th, the winners were revealed at a judging and celebration event in DWR's SoHo studio.
Participants entered to win one of three prizes worth up to $1,000 to spend at DWR. The categories were Most Original, Best Likeness (of any chair that DWR sells), and the Pommery Prize. The Grand Prize winners for Most Original and Best Likeness received a $1,000 gift card to DWR, and the runners-up received a $750 DWR gift card. One winner was selected for the Pommery Prize and awarded a $1,000 DWR gift card and Pommery Gift Set.

To commemorate the contest, the MillerKnoll Foundation donated $20,000 to United States Artists (USA), a nonprofit that supports artists and celebrates their essential role in society. Each year, USA extends generous fellowships to dozens of artists at all stages of their careers, providing unrestricted grants to help support their artistic practices and living expenses.
